Famed filmmaker Peter Jackson unveiled bit info about his producing project "Dambusters."

AceShowbiz - Sitting in an interview with OnFilm magazine, Peter Jackson has eagerly given few updates on his upcoming action war drama "Dambusters" which he is producing alongside Carolynne Cunningham and Jan Blenkin for Universal Pictures.

While saying some major announcements about the project would be made in the next few months, the famed filmmaker informed that he and director Christian Rivers has successfully picked up British actor/comedian/writer Stephen Fry to work on the film's script and that the crew were halfway through building a full-size replica of a Lancaster bomber. It is also revealed that his F/X company Weta Digital had completed computer-generated image tests of Lancasters in flight and attacking dams.

"It's one of those projects that requires a lot of prep - you can't sprint out of the gate when you've got to figure out how to build a bunch of Lancasters and do vast amounts of research," so Jackson remarked.

In the same occasion, Jackson also expressed his wish to get a renewed interest from the 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures to revive the abandoned "Halo", of which development was halted back in October. He, however, did point out that he and partner Fran Walsh would only take part in it if Neill Blomkamp is kept as the director.

"We wouldn't want to do it with anybody else. It'll be Neill's call, " the New Zealander, known widely for his "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, firmly stated.

As the topic moved to "The Hobbit", the renowned filmmaker signaled that chances to see him handle the anticipated flick are "remote at this point" since the dispute between him and New Line has not been settled yet.

"We have a great many friends at New Line and utmost respect for the risk they took with us and it hurts to be hit with the level of venom directed at us from individuals in that company," he said. "It's been a lot more nasty behind the scenes than what's been made public."
