"Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End" snatches the No. 1 movie title from "Shrek the Third", racking in a tally twice bigger than the animated flick collects.

AceShowbiz - As blockbuster titles continue to hit the theaters, seeing them take turns in ruling the box office sure has become an inevitable thing to witness and so, it should come off as no surprise that "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End" is the one striving to do so for now.
Amazingly garners a superb tally of $126.5 million in its first three-day run to claim the top spot of the domestic box office ended May 27, 2007, this latest installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, however, fails to set new opening record on the chart besides falling short of the $135.6 million of its predecessor "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."
Though so, the great amount of cash it has collected successfully more than doubles the $51 million gross raked in by fellow blockbuster also last week's champ "Shrek the Third" and unequivocally pushes down the animated feature one notch to the second rank.
Another big title, "Spider-Man 3", also suffers the same fate as the superhero flick has to descend a step after adding a handful $13.7 million into its third-place feedbag. Newcomer "Bug" and romantic comedy "Waitress" follow behind to secure the fourth and fifth position, the former pulling $3.3 million in its debut while the latter scoring slightly lesser at $3.1 million.
Zombie movie "28 Weeks Later�" comes up next with a modest income of $2.5 million trailed by "Georgia Rule" which manages to earn $1.9 million in its third spin on the list. Lined up in order to construct the top ten are teen thriller "Disturbia" with $1.8 million, Gregory Hoblit's crime suspense "Fracture" with 1.09 million, and Disney's biker comedy "Wild Hogs" with $1.075 million.
