Oprah Winfrey said she was "stunned" to learn her father plans to write a book about her.

AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey was left "devastated," again, that her close one plans to sell her story to public. First it was her relative that sold her secrets to a tabloid, and just now the talk show host was stunned as she learnt that her father is planning to write a book about her.

To make matter worse, Oprah learned about the memoir not from her dad, Vernon Winfrey, but from a gossip column. She testified that she laughed when one of her assistants told her that New York's Daily News was calling to ask about a book her father was writing. "I said, 'That's impossible. I can assure them it's not true,'" she said.

In fact, "I was upset. I won't say devastated, but I was stunned," Oprah told the publication, that when "... I called him and it turned out he is writing a book. The worst part of it was him saying, 'I meant to tell you I've been working on it.'"

Vernon, on the other hand, told TVGuidecom on Tuesday May 22nd that he is not working on a book, but that he might consider writing one later. Asked if he'd spoken to his famous daughter about a possible book, he said, "No. It's just on hold right now, OK?"

On the planned memoir, reportedly to be called "Things Unspoken," it is said that Vernon says in it that Oprah was "out of hand, an unruly child. ... She had secrets. Dark secrets. Some I didn't discover 'til she was a grown woman, 'til it was too late."

Despite all, Oprah insists that her relationship with her father is "good" and that they still "talk."
