Sylvester Stallone was convicted Monday May 21st of bringing dozens of vials of restricted body-boosting hormones into Australia, and ordered to pay nearly A$13,000 or US$10,690 in fine.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone was convicted for bringing muscle-amping hormones into Australia earlier this year and thus was ordered to pay nearly A$13,000 (US$10,690) in fines and costs.

New South Wales state Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran said the 60-year-old actor did not have a valid prescription for dozens of vials of human growth hormone found in his luggage when he visited Sydney in February on a promotional tour.

Stallone, moreover, also failed to declare four vials of the male hormone testosterone on a customs entry form, although he had legitimate medical reasons for carrying the drug.

Cloran fined Stallone, who was not present in court, a total of A$2,975 (US$2,450) on both charges and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of A$10,000 (US$8,200). The magistrate said he had given Stallone a reduced penalty, taking into account the actor's written apology and guilty plea last week.
