AceShowbiz - Progress in bringing a movie inspired by the best-selling intelligent robot Robosapien to life seems to go rather smoothly in the follow-up to the announcement about the project made by toy company Wowwee Ltd. back in early March.
Variety has brought in news reporting that the flick has already been set to enter production this November in the U.S. using budget between $25 million-$30 million. "Raise Your Voice" director Sean McNamara is attached to helm from script written by Max Botkin and Avi Arad, who is also on duty to produce alongside Steven Paul.
A joint production of Avi Arad Productions and Crystal Sky Pictures, pic presents a story of a scientist working on artificial intelligence who steals one of his creations, a robot boy named Toby, after learning that the corporation he works for wants the robot and others for military use. By a series of accident, Toby is found by the lonely 11-year-old son of a harassed single mother, whom it befriends and embarks on a series of adventures with.
