Ben Harper Adds
Music

Ben Harper has it on again through a new album that is recorded in a new atmosphere and in the count of days.

AceShowbiz - In just seven days, Ben Harper and his band Innocent Criminals finished the follow up of 2006's "Both Sides of the Gun". Taking Paris as the post to record this eleventh studio album, Harper comprised 11 tracks into an album named "Lifelines".

"I had always wanted to make a record in Paris ... because it's Paris," Harper said. "And I had always wanted to make a record directly coming off of a tour. It just makes sense. You've got all your best equipment and your musical abilities are never as sharp or as heightened as when you've been consistently on the road."

The new record basically bears his experimental style which are both expressive and easy flowing. Some tracks such as "Say You Will" and "Put It on Me" are good for laid back moments while songs like "Having Wings" and "Fool for a Lonesome Train" shows something new from the singer. He though, still earmarks his soulful voice in the song "Fight Outta You".

"Lifelines" is due August 28 via Virgin Records. Harper's side project in charity album "Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign" will come out earlier on June 12 via Warner Bros. In the album, he covered John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy".
