Ellen DeGeneres Joins "Idol Gives Back" as the Host

Ellen DeGeneres will be one of the hosts of the charity event that boasts equally huge names.

Joining the lots to add the limelight of "Idol Gives Back" is . The stand up comedian has the honor to host the charity event which is to be aired April 24-25 on fox from 8-10 p.m.

In the two hours special, Ellen will appear from Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles while some of his fellow entertainers will appear from the "Idol" stage. Huge names will grace both stages for one solid purpose, to raise money for poor children in US and Africa.

's will gather the current Idol finalist to raise people's awareness towards their campaign "Make Poverty History". These finalists will then perform a song written by Bono titled "American Prayer".

As more and more celebrities agreed to attend the event, Ken Warwick as the producer of the show said, "One thing I can guarantee is there will be humor and a few shocks. I know it will also move people to give generously."
