A filmmaker named C.L. Gregory revealed to Rush PR News that he is in serious talks to cast Jessica Simpson in his new 'horror' project "The Kentucky Fried Horror Show."

AceShowbiz - Well, this no doubt will raise such a great hype if the deals are really inked. According to Rush PR News, an Indiana-born filmmaker named C.L. Gregory has stated that he is currently holding serious talks to have Jessica Simpson cast in his next 'horror' effort, "The Kentucky Fried Horror Show."

"I felt that the script needed someone that could carry the weight of its character and without doubt, Jessica was my first and only consideration for the role," so Gregory commented as quoted by the site. "She's never done a horror film to date and we felt she was ready for a project like this as it will be a very emotional and demanding piece of work for her. But I don't see anyone who can pull it off better than Jessica Simpson."

Further details on the project have not yet been known, but it is said that the flick will be set in the Pentecostal south and revolves around a group of college students on a road trip who come across a murderous religious cult. Besides Simpson, Gregory reportedly is also looking for Hilary Duff to assume another role in the movie.

UPDATE 04/24/2007: Jessica Simpson's publicist has contacted Ryan Stewart of Cinematical saying the whole story is totally untrue.

UPDATE 04/25/2007: Responding to the claim, C.L. Gregory insisted that there have indeed been serious talks with the beauty's management for her to take the role with script being sent and revisions getting made at their request. However, some have considered this to be a way for Gregory to get more publicity on the movie as the man turns out to have a blue film on his directorial credit.
