Jared Padalecki Holds the Key to
Movie

"Supernatural" star Jared Padalecki has joined Peter O'Toole to play Thomas Kinkade in the partly biographical film of the painter "The Christmas Cottage."

AceShowbiz - Going back into the big screen after his last film stint in "Cry Wolf", Jared Padalecki has smoothly signed in to join Peter O'Toole in highlighting "The Christmas Cottage", Lionsgate and the Firm's partly biographical feature about renowned painter Thomas Kinkade.

Based on the painting made by Kinkade, the flick presents a story of how a small community and an aging mentor come to the aid of a family to save the only home they have ever known, along the way teaching a young man the meaning of love, friendship, and what it means to be a true artist.

While O'Toole has already been given the role of Glen Weissler, created based on one of Kinkade's mentors, Padalecki, currently can be seen in The CW's series "Supernatural", reportedly will portray the painter, whose works are distinguished by their glowing highlights and vibrant pastel colors.

Shooting is due to begin this month in Vancouver and Whistler for a December 14 release under the direction of Michael Campus who will helm from script by Ken LaZebnick. Meanwhile, Kinkade and his wife Nanette Kinkade will both serve as the movie's producers together with Campus and Julie Yorn.
