U.S. Postal Service has made a collection of stamps featuring the characters from "Star Wars" series which will be released for public on May 25, 2007.

AceShowbiz - The considerable popularity of "Star Wars" franchise apparently has brought an inspiration to the U.S. Postal Service to make a move that sure will delight all fans around the country.

Yes, the company has got the series' characters printed as stamps which it proudly unveiled Wednesday, March 28 at Grauman's Chinese theater in Hollywood, where the "Star Wars" movie come up the surface thirty years ago.

Taking images from all six "Star Wars" flicks, the fifteen new-first class stamps feature a number of principal characters of the series like Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Vader, C-3PO, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Queen Padme Amidala.

"We're hoping that it really grabs a lot of attention," so said David Failor, director of stamp services at the Postal Service. "There are certainly a lot of `Star Wars' fans out there."

Set to be issued on a single sheet that resembles a movie poster, the stamps will be available for sale on May 25 this year after a contest to choose the most popular of the stamps. People are encouraged to submit their votes for their favorite online at uspsjedimaster.com.
