'Special' is what describe Elton John's 60th birthday concert on March 25.

AceShowbiz - Elton John sleek in his black tuxedo headed for the after party concert in Madison Square Garden and awed the audience that included his friends. On the other hand, his close mates returned the favor with special surprises.

Opened by Bill Clinton, the concert coincided with Elton's 60th birthday and therefore Clinton welcomed him to 'his favorite club: the 60-year-olds'. Afterwards, Elton took his seat in front of the piano and delivered "Sixty Years On", the title that fitted the occasion.

For the next few hours, his favorite hits were coming out of his hands including all time favorite "Rocket Man", personal song "The Bridge" and also the tribute song to John Lennon "Empty Garden". The latter was ended as two of his best friends, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams took the stage and said some lines for Elton. Williams jokingly took the subject of Elton's dressing. He was quoted as saying that Elton "used to make Liberace look Amish."

More coming up as Bernie Taupin suddenly appeared from the backstage to lead the audience into singing Happy Birthday for Elton. Before ending the concert with "Your Song", Elton told everybody, "Thank you for making my birthday special". This big moment was captured by MyNetworkTV and will air on April 5 in a two-hour special dubbed Happy Birthday Elton.
