Over 40 years of career and hundreds of songs coming out of his hands, it is only proper that Elton John deserves the display of his hard work.

AceShowbiz - Fans of Sir Elton John can now enjoy a stomach full of his songs. Over 400 tracks will be made available for digital downloads in a service provided by Apple iTunes. The digital catalogue from Apple will be effective from March 26 until April 30 and then it will go to other download services. It is also reported that some of the tracks will be made cell phone ringtones.

The tracks included in the catalogue are taken ranging from the very beginning of his career including those which almost went unnoticed such as "Empty Sky" (1969) and the 1970's self titled album until the 1975's chart busters "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" and "Rock of the Westies". Melodies like "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" featuring Kiki Dee and Lady Di's tribute "Candle in the Wind" will also be accessible in the download system.

Coincidence or not, the launching of the digital catalogue will be in harmony with his 60th birthday which will be celebrated through a concert in Madison Square Garden and also the release of compilation album "Rocket Man: Number Ones".

Elton has commented that the launching of the catalogue has been on his mind for sometimes, but only now can he prepare for such release. "Now that it's happening, I'm pleased for the fans' sake. The world has certainly changed since Philips Records issued my first single on 7-inch vinyl - 39 years ago this month," the singer said.

With the new chart regulation that allows any single despite the age or physical copy to enter the chart, this catalogue may catapult his hits back to the list. Only a man with 40 years of career span and albums sold over 200 million worldwide can do this.
