Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and John C. Reilly are all announced to be the voice talents for Focus Features' animated film "9."

AceShowbiz - Fully realizing the star powers behind an animated feature, Focus Features CEO James Schamus proudly announced on Tuesday, March 20, that the studio's animated epic "9" is featuring an all-star voice cast consisting of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and John C. Reilly.

"This exciting and thought-provoking story has already drawn a strong filmmaking team together to work with Shane in bringing his visionary fantasy world to life," Schamus claimed. "These splendid actors will provide compelling characterizations to go with the visual brilliance."

A feature-length expansion of Shane Acker's short film of the same title, the flick centers on a community of fully mobile rag dolls living in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. Wood will voice the titular character while Connelly provides voice to 7, a brave warrior; Glover as 6, a visionary and artist; Landau as 2, an aged inventor; Plummer 1, a domineering war veteran; and Reilly 5, a stalwart mechanic.

Currently in production, "9" is scripted by Pamela Pettler with Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov, and Jim Lemley all producing for Focus which is handling financial matters and holds worldwide rights to the movie. Focus creative exec David Gerson is overseeing the project for president of production John Lyons.
