"The Departed" scribe William Monahan will reunite with the flick's star Leonardo DiCaprio in "Confessions of Pain" and its director Martin Scorsese in "The Long Play."

AceShowbiz - Seems William Monahan has got so much fun in collaborating with Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese for "The Departed" that he does not put delay in working alongside the two once again.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the scribe, who just won an Oscar for his writing work in the mob saga, is set to once again team up with DiCaprio to develop a big screen feature titled "Confessions of Pain" while reuniting with Scorsese for a rock 'n' roll epic called "The Long Play."

For the former one, which is a remake of Hong Kong's thriller "Seung sing", Monahan will both pen the script and seat as executive producer for Warner Bros. Pictures with DiCaprio producing via his Appian Way alongside Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Doug Davison. Story centers on two close friends, one a police detective and the other a private detective, who team up to investigate the murder of the cop's father-in-law.

As for the latter, the lauded writer is also set to work on its screenplay, making a rewrite to be exact, with Scorsese serving as producer accompanied by Mick Jagger and his Jagged Films partner Victoria Pearman. Developed under Paramount Pictures banner, the project follows two buddies as they both spend forty years in the music business, from the early days of R&B to contemporary hip-hop.
