"Superman Returns" dominates the film categories with ten nominations, notably that in Best Fantasy Film.

AceShowbiz - Keeps carrying out its tradition in recognizing the top works in science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film, television, and home video, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films officially revealed yesterday, February 20, the contenders for its 2007 Saturn Awards, set to take place in Universal City on May 10.

Showing up as the leader of the pack is "Superman Returns" which amazingly gains ten nominations, five of them being in acting categories besides those of Best Fantasy Film, Best Director for Bryan Singer, Best Special Effects, Best Music, and Best Writing.

"X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Pan's Labyrinth" followed behind with six nods each, the former scoring in Best Science Fiction Film category while the latter in Best International Film. Both also land Best Supporting Actor nomination for Kelsey Grammer and Sergi Lopez who will compete against "Returns" star James Marsden to snatch the title.

For other best film categories, "The Descent" earns slot in Best Horror Film with "Casino Royale" vying for Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film title and "Cars" for Best Animated Film. Furthermore, the first two bring their leads, Shauna Macdonald and Daniel Craig, to receive a nomination in leading acting category alongside the likes of Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, and Clive Owen among others.

In small screen slot, ABC's "Lost" dominates the nominations by taking a total of six, including Best Network Television Series, best TV actor for Matthew Fox, and best TV actress for Evangeline Lilly. It is followed closely by NBC's newcomer "Heroes" and Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" which garner five and four nods, respectively.
