"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" scored most with six prizes altogether, including for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture.

AceShowbiz - Dedicated to advance the arts, sciences, and applications of visual effects, the Visual Effects Society on Sunday, February 11 for the fifth time held the annual gala of its VES Awards at the Kodak Grand Ballroom and stretched out honors to those behind the creation of F/X in all areas of entertainment.

Scored tremendous success at the event was "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" as it wonderfully swept six trophies in total, winning those for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture, Best Single Visual Effect of the Year, Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Motion Picture, Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Motion Picture, and Outstanding Compositing in a Motion Picture.

Meanwhile, three other big screen titles namely "Cars", "Casino Royale", and "Flags of Our Fathers" landed one honor each in Outstanding Animated Character in an Animated Motion Picture, Outstanding Special Effects in a Motion Picture, and Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture, respectively.

In the small screen slot, sci-fi series "Battlestar Galactica" delightfully gained two awards in the categories of Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Broadcast Program plus Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series with NBC's medical drama "ER" taking another in Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Broadcast Program for episode "Scoop and Run."
