"Stomp the Yard" helmer Sylvain White has been selected to bring Frank Miller's graphic novel "Ronin" to the big screen for Warner Bros..

AceShowbiz - Apparently it only needs quite a short time for Sylvain White to have his next project in his hands after "Stomp the Yard." IESB.net claimed that producer Gianni Nunnari has assigned the guy to direct "Ronin", a film version of Frank Miller's graphic novel of the same title.

The appointment later was confirmed by White himself in an exclusive interview with BlackFilm.com to which the man revealed that he is setting up things for the project, set to be developed under Warner Bros. Pictures.

"We are working off different scripts and trying to polish them," White remarked upon being asked what stage the film was at. "We are working off different versions that we got a couple of different authors. There's a really nice presentation that goes with it."

The original version of "Ronin" presents the tale of a dishonored 13th-century Japanese samurai who is reborn in the 21st century New York with one last chance for redemption. Here he undergoes a quest which finally brings him face-to-face with the reincarnation of his sworn enemy, the ancient demon Agat.
