DreamWorks' comedy flick "Norbit" claims the No. 1 spot in its debut on the weekend box office ended February 11, 2007.

AceShowbiz - All the pros, give way to the rookies, please as two new releases have triumphantly soared high in their debut to lead the weekend box office ended Sunday, February 11, 2007.

Strikes great despite a critical battering, "Norbit" fabulously exceeded industry observers' low-$20 million range expectations with $34.1 million in claiming the top spot of the chart, easily beating out "Hannibal Rising" which scores way down below at $13 million as the runner-up.

Meanwhile, last-week top holder "The Messengers" disappointingly receives a quite bitter downfall as it slips to number four after only manages to add up another $7.2 million behind the $9.2 million its rival "Because I Said So" has collected.

On the other hand, fellow former champ "Night at the Museum" turns out to still perform well on the list in its eighth round, pulling $5.7 million to firmly seat on the fifth place followed by "Epic Movie" and "Smokin' Aces", the former garnering a modest income $4.5 million while the latter $4.1 million.

Next positions lined up in order to the tenth rank delightfully continue to be secured by Oscar contenders namely "Pan's Labyrinth" with $3.5 million, "Dreamgirls" with $2.9 million, and "The Queen" with $2.3 million.
