David Wenham is joining Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman to star in Baz Luhrmann's "Australia."

AceShowbiz - Striving for more high-profile role, David Wenham has given positive sign to take starring part in "Australia", the pre-World War II drama of 20th Century Fox production, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

With this inclusion, the project thus marks the reunion of Wenham and his fellow Australian thespians, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, whom he previously collaborated with in "Moulin Rouge!" and "Van Helsing", respectively.

As for the story, "Australia" sees Kidman as an English aristocrat who inherits a ranch and reluctantly pacts with a cattle driver, played by Jackman, to protect her new property from a takeover plot set by Wenham's character.

Filming on the picture is scheduled to begin by April in northern Australia with Baz Luhrmann to helm based on his own script. Apart from these two duties, the renowned filmmaker is also seating as producer alongside Stuart Beattie and Ronald Harwood.
