Eddie Murphy and Meryl Streep landed prizes in acting categories.

AceShowbiz - The spotlight now is being cast down upon Eddie Murphy and Meryl Streep as both triumphantly came out as the honorees at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards, joining the other winning names mentioned earlier like Jennifer Hudson and Emily Blunt.

Finally able to bring home a major Hollywood honor after a twenty-five-year career, Murphy delightfully snatched Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture prize for "Dreamgirls" while Streep secured an award in Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category for "The Devil Wears Prada."

For names in small screen categories, Bill Nighy of BBC's "Gideon's Daughter" and Hugh Laurie of FOX's "House" also wonderfully became the winners at the prestigious event, the former scoring in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and the latter in that of a Television Series - Drama.

Meanwhile, for the Best Animated Feature, the HFPA ultimately bestowed the title to Disney/Pixar's "Cars" while naming HBO's production of "Elizabeth I" the Best Mini-Series for Motion Picture Made for Television.
