Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, American Idol and The Da Vinci Code are all top newsmakers of 2006 for man, woman, TV and movie categories.

AceShowbiz - Currently in its 11th season, Access Hollywood, has named its "Top Newsmakers of 2006." Were calculated according to the number of stories dedicated to each celebrity, TV show and film over the course of the year, this year top stories man is Tom Cruise.

With 94 stories counted during this year, Tom Cruise is in the leading position in man category, meanwhile his wife Katie Holmes only reaches the second position of woman category. This is also happened to couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie since Angie is in the leading woman category meanwhile Brad only in the second position.

Other top 10 of men newsmaker of 2006 are George Clooney, Nick Lachey, Paul McCartney, Kevin Federline, Keith Urban, Vince Vaughn, Donald Trump and Michael Jackson. As for the women are Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman and Teri Hatcher.

This year TV show top newsmaker is American Idol with 62 stories, one story more than Dancing With the Stars. Continue in movie newsmaker, the lists have Tom Hanks' film "The Da Vinci Code" in the top position, followed by Mission: Impossible 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Superman Returns and Casino Royale.
