AceShowbiz - The Christmas spirit brings good luck charm for New York rapper Nas as he has just scored his first No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts in seven years Wednesday Dec 27th with his eight studio album, "Hip Hop Is Dead", sold 355,000 copies in the week ended December 24. Back in the years before now, the star once topped the Billboard 200 with "I Am...The Autobiography" in 1999 and "It Was Written" in 1996.
The chart's next best bows among others are the soundtrack to the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" which climbs one to 2nd spot sold another 349,000 copies, the multi-artist compilation "NOW 23" which also moves up one to No. 3 with 313,000, and Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts" ups two places to No. 4 moving 292,000 copies. Rounding out the Top 5 is The Beatles' "Love" which bounces three to No. 5 with 282,000.
Elsewhere on the chart is Bow Wow's "The Price of Fame" which is at No. 6 taking in 262,000, just one place ahead of Josh Groban's "Awake" which slips two to No. 7, sold 255,000. Rock band DAUGHTRY's eponymous debut slips one to No. 8 with 250,000, followed after by Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds", entering the Top 10 again at No. 9 with 230,000 copies. Finishing the Top 10 is Akon's "Konvicted" with 227,000.
