"The Departed" snatched the top honor of Best Picture plus an award in Best Adapted Screenplay category.

AceShowbiz - A professional organization of over forty film journalists in the print media representing the Southeastern section of the United States, the Southeastern Film Critics Association solemnly bestowed its honors of SEFCA Awards to a number of noted film titles and individuals Tuesday, December 19, 2006.
The top honor of Best Picture was given to "The Departed" which also won Best Adapted Screenplay category while the title of Best Foreign Language Film went to Guillermo del Toro's fantasy horror drama "Pan's Labyrinth" with "An Inconvenient Truth" and "Cars" being deemed Best Documentary and Best Animated Feature, respectively.
For leading acting categories, the group appeared to get the same thoughts as most organizations have for they unanimously decided to name both Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren as the recipients, the former obviously for his role in "The Last King of Scotland" and the latter for hers in "The Queen."
Meanwhile, the honor of Best Supporting Actor fell into the hands of California-born thespian Jackie Earle Haley, thanks to his superb performance in "Little Children." Matched him in the opposite slot was Jennifer Hudson who shines through in her acting debut in Bill Condon's musical drama flick "Dreamgirls."
