"Little Children" came out as big winner of the event with garnering three awards that included top honor Best Picture.

AceShowbiz - Coming up with the result of their votes for recognizing the finest achievements in filmmaking, the members of San Francisco Film Critics Circle unveiled yesterday, December 12, their picks for the winners of the 2006 SFFCC Awards.
Most prizes surprisingly were secured by Todd Field's dramatic feature of "Little Children" as it proudly took home three awards for the categories of Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Jackie Earle Haley.
Opposite to Haley, Adriana Barraza gloriously was named Best Supporting Actress for her stunning performance as a conflicted Mexican nanny in "Babel." In the leading acting slots, Helen Mirren and Sacha Baron Cohen were both deemed the Best Actress and Actor, respectively, the former obviously for her role in "The Queen" and the latter for "Borat."
Meanwhile, Best Director honor went to "United 93" helmer Paul Greengrass who was lauded for his sensitive and vivid recreation of the events aboard the plane while Stephen Salmons, co-founder and artistic director San Francisco Silent Film Festival, was granted Marlon Riggs Award for courage & vision in the Bay Area film community.
Other winning titles were "Pan's Labyrinth" as Best Foreign Language Film also "An Inconvenient Truth" as Best Documentary with "Brick" scoring one nod in Best Original Screenplay category for Rian Johnson and "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" being awarded Special Citation in honor of Arthur Lazere.
