A Los Angeles judge brought an early end to Courtney Love's probation on drug and assault charges on Monday Dec 11th.

AceShowbiz - Courtney Love walked out the court room joyously Monday Dec 11th after a judge terminated her probation and dismissed three misdemeanor cases, including two drug-related charges.

Superior Court Judge Rand Rubin terminated Love's probation orders relating to drugs and assault charges despite objections from lawyers representing musician Kristin King who was attacked by the singer two years ago.

"Thank you for not taking me into custody," Love told Judge Rand Rubin. "Thank you for giving me an opportunity. You've been a good, fair judge. Sorry for crying."

Love had pleaded no contest in 2005 to the assault charge and guilty to possessing powerful painkillers Vicodin and Oxycontin without a valid prescription, as well as a count of being under the influence of cocaine. She had been given three years probation for the offenses and was ordered by Rubin to complete year-long anger management and drug treatment programs.

Speaking on the ruling, Love's lawyer commented, "Courtney stepped up to the plate, turned her life around and is on the road to releasing her new record and hopefully getting hired to act in films."
