Nickelback, Mary J. Blige, T.I. and Rascal Flatts all receiving five nods each to lead the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, air on Fox next Monday, December 4.

AceShowbiz - Canadian rockers Nickelback lead the pack in the awards season. The music act leads the 2006 Billboard Music Awards with five nominations all at once, mainly for the categories of Artist of the Year, Duo/Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year both for "All the Right Reasons", plus Rock Artist of the Year.

Also leads the awards show with five nominations is Mary J. Blige who vies for Female Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Female R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the Year for "The Breakthrough", and R&B/Hip-Hop Single of the Year for "Be Without You". Rapper T.I. is another leading nominee, scores nods for R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Male R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the Year plus Rap Album of the Year both for "King", and Rap Artist of the Year.

Rascal Flatts also is one heavy contender, up for Artist of the Year, Duo/Group of the Year, Country Artist of the Year, Duo/Group Country Artist of the Year, and Country Album of the Year for "Me and My Gang". Some other artists nominated in multiple categories include Chris Brown, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Three Days Grace, Nelly Furtado, Beyonce Knowles and Sean Paul.
