SOCAN Honors Jann Arden with National Achievement and Pop Music Awards

The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada is honoring Jann Arden for six hits that have reached the 100,000-airplay mark on Canadian radio last year.

AceShowbiz - The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) honored Jann Arden Wednesday night Nov 22nd with a National Achievement Award and Pop Music Award for radio airplay in 2005.

A pop star, Arden has already had six hits that have reached the 100,000-airplay mark on Canadian radio last year. Her hits, including "Could I Be Your Girl" and "Will You Remember Me", are among the 11 English-language songs being honored in Toronto for reaching the impressive benchmark.

Other honorees at the event are Nick Gilder and James McCulloch's 1975 hit "Roxy Roller," performed by Sweeney Todd and Rich Dodson's "Devil You," a 1973 hit performed by The Stampeders.
