Movie

Baz Luhrmann has revealed that his new epic film project which Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman star in is titled "Australia."

AceShowbiz - Answering people's curiosity about the title of his new epic project starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann finally comes out with a decision to simply name it "Australia", The Age has reported.

The title was selected over few other names like "Great Southern Land" and "Faraway Downs", which is the name of the homestead in the flick.

"I'm taking the perspective of the rest of the world to this film how they might view 'Australia'," so Luhrmann said as he explained his reason of picking up the title. "When you say 'Casablanca' or 'Oklahoma!' it means big. It means vast... I'm not saying this film is Australia. It's a metaphor for a state of mind, for the faraway."

A romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia prior to WWII, the picture reportedly has obtained green light from 20th Century Fox and will start filming by March for five months in Kimberley with Luhrmann also producing and penning the script alongside Stuart Beattie and Ronald Harwood.
