AceShowbiz - Numbers of music performers are celebrating the 2006 American Music Awards, held Tuesday night Nov 21st.
Listed among the event's performers, Beyonce Knowles opened the awards show, singing her single "Irreplaceable".
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson won double awards, mainly for the category of Pop/Rock Female and Adult Contemporary Artist. Mary J. Blige was another award collector, took home the award for Female Soul/Rhythm & Blues Artist. Handed her the prize was surprise presenter Britney Spears.
