Movie

Steven Soderbergh will helm two movies about the life of Latin American revolutionary Che Guevara titled "The Argentine" and "Guerilla" and shoot them back-to-back.

AceShowbiz - Finally ready to bring up his long-gestating project depicting the life of Che Guevara to the big screen, prominent director Steven Soderbergh has been confirmed to develop not only one but two movies about the respected Latin American revolutionary, titled "The Argentine" and "Guerrilla."

Intended to be shot back-to-back using mostly Spanish dialogue, these two projects have already picked up "Traffic" star Benicio Del Toro to play Guevara while Javier Bardem, Franka Potente, and Benjamin Bratt are all currently in talks to join the cast. Both movies will be made using less than $70 million budget with Peter Buchman working on the scripts and Laura Bickford producing.

As for the story, the first film will follow Guevara and a band of Cuban exiles as they struggled to mobilize popular support as well as an army that later toppled the U.S.-friendly regime of dictator Fulgencio Batista while the second sees him go to New York where he spoke at the United Nations in 1964 and was celebrated in society circles.
