Walt Disney Pictures will make "Animated American" in the mix of live-action and animation.

AceShowbiz - Returning to the favor of live-action and animation mix like it had done before in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Walt Disney Pictures has obtained the rights to "Animated American" to develop it into a big screen feature under its banner.

Dealing with the difficulty faced by teens when trying to fit in, the project revolves around a misfit who's at sea after his girlfriend leaves town after graduation. Peter Ackerman is on duty to pen the script with Bob Cooper, Robert Zemeckis, and Jack Rapke producing.

A subsidiary of the Walt Disney Studio Entertainment, Walt Disney Pictures is the main motion picture producing studio of Burbank-based The Walt Disney Company. Its future big screen projects among others are "Enchanted", "American Dog (aka Bolt)", and "Me2."
