"Raise Your Voice" director Sean McNamara is set to helm "Bratz: The Movie", a live-action flick of popular toy franchise Bratz.

AceShowbiz - Back to the big screen after his last feature directorial work of "Raise Your Voice" for New Line Cinema, California-based filmmaker Sean McNamara has reportedly been appointed to helm "Bratz: The Movie", a live-action feature of the popular toy franchise of which spin-off products include a magazine and an animated series on 4 KidsTV.

A collaborative project of MGA Entertainment, Inc., Avi Arad Productions, and Crystal Sky Pictures which handles the film's financial matters, pic is tentatively slated to begin filming early February in Los Angeles with John Doolittle penning the script. Isaac Larian, Avi Arad, and Steven Paul are all producing while Benedict Carver will executive produce.

As for the premise, the movie will center on four teenage girls named Yasmin, Ari, Cloe, and Jade who bond over the ups and downs of adolescent life at Lewis & Clark High School despite their different backgrounds, along the way learning the value of real friendship amidst the social pressures of school, family, and the expectation to be cool.
