Warner Bros. Pictures has obtained rights to Neal Pollack's "Alternadad" to develop it into a film feature.

AceShowbiz - Looks like there will be many memoir-based features to hit the big screen in the future. Similar to Paramount which intends to develop "Eat, Pray, Love", Warner Bros. Pictures is set to make "Alternadad" based on satirist Neal Pollack's new memoir work of the same title, Variety has revealed.

Successfully snatched the film rights to the book, the studio has already collaborated with Anonymous Content's Billy Gerber, Steve Golin, and Shawn Simon to produce the project. The book itself, set to hit the shelves by January, centers on Pollack's hilarious and unorthodox attempts at fatherhood, even while he and his wife refuse to grow up and push aside their carefree lifestyle.

Originally founded in 1926, Warner Bros. Pictures is the main motion picture production arm of Warner Bros. Entertainment and has either produced or distributed hundreds films of various genre. Some of its upcoming productions are "Ocean's Thirteen", "Blood Diamond", and "One Missed Call."
