Paris Hilton's court hearing on drunk driving charges has been postponed until December.

AceShowbiz - The court hearing of Paris Hilton's DUI charges has been postponed until December. Howard Weitzman, an attorney for the socialite, said he's been seeking for postponement and been granted one until December 5th later this year "in order to determine if and how the case will ultimately be resolved.

Paris was arrested Sept. 7 after being stopped in her Mercedes-Benz SLR while, she has said, on a late-night hamburger run. She was originally scheduled to be arraigned Thursday Sept 28th on charges that she was driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of at least 0.08 percent.

"At this point, we are only dealing with allegations, which is why it often takes some time to determine what's best for the client", Weitzman spoke on the postponement. If convicted, Paris could be sentenced to six months in jail and fined $1,000. The minimum penalty for a first-time offender is a fine, probation and alcohol-rehabilitation program.
