Maria Bello and other four stars are set to act in a film adaptation of Joy Fowlers' novel titled "The Jane Austen Book Club."

AceShowbiz - Lining up to make a great cast, five stars namely Maria Bello, Josh Lucas, Emily Blunt, Ellen Burstyn, and Jimmy Smits have given their agreement to take part in "The Jane Austen Book Club", a big screen adaptation of Joy Fowlers' bestselling novel of the same title.

Set to direct by Robin Swicord, the project will likely to closely follow the book's story which focuses on six California residents who join a club discussing Jane Austen's novels. During the meetings, marriages are tested and affairs begin while unsuitable arrangements become suitable and love flourishes. Production is expected to begin by early November in Los Angeles.

Bello, a native of Norristown, Pennsylvania, currently can be seen in theaters playing Donna McLoughlin in Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center" while Burstyn can be spotted in "The Wicker Man" which has successfully scored $11.7 million in its opening weekend early this month.

As for others, Lucas is last seen in Wolfgang Petersen's "Poseidon" alongside Kurt Russell and Smits in "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" reprising his role of Senator Bail Organa. Meanwhile Blunt recently was reported to sign on to Big Beach's new project entitled "Sunshine Cleaning" with Amy Adams.
