Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Timothy Olyphant have signed on to join the cast of Paramount's war drama of "Stop-Loss."

AceShowbiz - Continues to assemble its cast, "Stop-Loss" has added two more stars namely Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Timothy Olyphant in the line-up, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Joining Ryan Phillippe in the list, Gordon-Levitt is billed to play a soldier from U.S troops sent to Iraq who returns to his home only to face a failing marriage and tough time readjusting to civilian life. Meanwhile, Olyphant will portray a no-nonsense military man named Lt. Col. Boot Miller who is responsible for the re-enlistment of the troops to Iraq.

A Paramount Pictures production, "Stop-Loss" is based on a true story adapted for the screen by "Boys Don't Cry" writer-director Kimberly Peirce. It follows the story of a soldier named Brandon, played by Phillippe, as he is suddenly called back to be on duty again in Iraq through the military's "stop-loss" procedure.

Best known for his role in "3rd Rock From the Sun", Gordon-Levitt recently starred in indie films "Brick" also "Mysterious Skin" and is next slated to appear in Disney's "The Lookout." As for Olyphant, the Honolulu-born actor is last seen on the big screen performing opposite Elisha Cuthbert in "The Girl Next Door" (2004). His upcoming projects include "Bill" and "Catch and Release."
