Cher's most extravagant outfits are to be sold at auction next month.

AceShowbiz - Pop singer Cher makes good with her wardrobe collections. The star will be auctioning off more than 1 million dollars of her see-through dresses, jewelry and neo-gothic objects by next month.

Outfits, which went on display in London's Sotheby's auction house September 4th before they go under the hammer at Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton hotel on October 3-4 later this year, include the sparkling black net gown Cher wore for her spotlight performance of her American number one hit "Dark Lady" on the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour in 1974.

"I'm beginning a new chapter in my career and have decided to rewrite my personal environment - my home," Cher was quoted as saying on the auction.

Some other items being auctioned off among others are the red velvet gown Cher wore on the Cher Show in 1975 and the Bob Mackie floral beaded gown worn in a 1972 episode of the Sonny and Cher Show during her spotlight performance of "Say It Isn't So".

Part of the proceeds of the two-day sale at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles will benefit the Cher Charitable Foundation.
