Jessica Simpson made a singing performance on NBC's "Today" show despite her vocal injury.

AceShowbiz - Appearing on NBC's "Today" show Friday morning September 1, pop sensation Jessica Simpson boldly made a singing performance for the first time since injuring a vocal cord.

Despite the injury, the beauty delightfully managed to make her way in singing her new single "I Belong to Me", but her voice sadly cracked afterwards when trying to hit a high note on "With You", forcing her to pause for a moment before finishing the tune. "That had to be the most nerve-racking thing you've ever done in your life," "Today" co-host Matt Lauer commented.

The 26-year-old singer then tried to soothe her voice with a concoction which, as she has revealed, was made by her vocal coach. "I busted a blood vessel in my vocal cord," so she told Lauer. "Next time I sing, I'll be singin' my booty off."

Recently released her fourth studio album, "A Public Affair", Simpson previously cancelled a scheduled appearance on "Late Show With David Letterman" earlier this week due yet took time to show up on MTV's "Total Request Live" on Tuesday, August 29 and on MTV's Video Music Awards on Thursday night, August 31 although she did not sing.
