Paramount Pictures has assigned Max Makowski to direct its untitled action drama project.

AceShowbiz - Finally finding the right filmmaker to helm its new action drama feature, Paramount Pictures has picked up "One Last Dance" director Max Makowski to carry out the task, Variety has reported.

In working out the untitled project, Makowski thus will direct based on script written by Dave Callaham with Lorenzo di Bonaventura seating as the producer. There is no word yet about the film's cast, but it has been revealed that the story will revolve about a group of people who join forces to avenge the death of their murdered mob boss.

A Brazilian who speaks Spanish, Makowski first marked his step in film directing with a black-and-white movie entitled "The Pigeon Egg Strategy" (1998). His other works include another film feature of "Taboo" (2002) and Bravo's reality show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."

As for Callaham, the man previously has been in business with di Bonaventura through last year's videogame adaptation of "Doom." He is currently penning the screenplay of "Station" for Universal and "Barrow" for Warner.
