"The White Hotel" Getting off the Ground

"The White Hotel" will make it to the big screen.

D. M. Thomas' book, tentatively titled "The White Hotel", has raised both praise and controversy since it was first released in 1981.

Out of concern that the set has attracted the attention of Hollywood, now the movie version of it, also titled "The White Hotel", is about to hit worldwide theaters.

Variety reported that the drama flick will be directed by Simon Monjack, who also wrote the screenplay. He and producer Susan Stewart Potter reportedly have raised about $20 million to shoot the film, and are currently casting with a late-October start date being eyed.
