Philip Seymour Hoffman and Michelle Williams will star in Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut of "Synecdoche."

AceShowbiz - This one sure is worth waiting for. A directorial debut of Oscar-winning writer Charlie Kaufman, "Synecdoche" has satisfyingly included Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams in its cast list, making the film undoubtedly a promising high-profile project to come up.

Slated to begin the production by early summer 2007, the movie revolves around an anguished playwright and several women in his life. It is still unclear yet whether Kaufman will also pen the script or not.

Bestowed an Oscar for best actor category earlier this year through his superb portrayal as the titular character in "Capote", Hoffman is last seen playing villainous Owen Davian in "Mission: Impossible 3" which turns out to be another worldwide hit for the franchise. As for Williams, the beauty has recently been reported to portray famed English author, Charlotte Bronte, in Angela Workman's "Bronte" opposite Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.
