Jay-Z joined forces with the UN and MTV to film a documentary about the lack of accessible fresh water around the world.

AceShowbiz - Hip hop isn't the one and only thing Jay-Z thinks of. The rap mogul announced Wednesday August 9th that he has joined forces with the United Nations and MTV to film a documentary about the lack of accessible fresh water around the world.

The documentary, titled "The Diary of Jay-Z: Water for Life", is slated to air November 24 later this year on more than 150 MTV channels and 50 local programming stations in 179 countries. It will show the difficulty faced by more than 1 billion people around the globe in obtaining the life-sustaining liquid.

The set will, furthermore, chronicle Jay-Z's meetings with people affected by the clean-water crisis as well as his visits to poverty-stricken locations where environmentally savvy methods of obtaining drinkable water have already been implemented. The tour kicks off Sept. 9 in Poland, with filming to eventually begin in Turkey.

"As I started looking around and looking at ways I can become helpful, it started with water. Something as simple as water," said Jay-Z in a statement. "Young people need to know the problem exists." And so, the star hopes young people will learn to conserve water at a time when 4,500 children die daily from preventable diseases caused by poor sanitation and a lack of water.
