2-D Returns in Disney's
Movie

Walt Disney Feature Animation will make "The Frog Princess" back in 2-D style.

AceShowbiz - Seemingly goes against the flow of the 3-D era in animation, Walt Disney Feature Animation (WDFA) has set eyes to produce its new feature, "The Frog Princess", back to traditional 2-D style instead of the 3-D CGI method, so Variety has revealed.

Therefore being the latest 2-D project since the studio's 2004 work of "Home on the Range", the animated movie will be developed by writer-directors Ron Clements and John Musker who both have teamed up in previous Disney's films like "Treasure Planet", "Aladdin", and "The Little Mermaid" with Disney's longtime composer Alan Menken working on the music score.

Both Clements and Musker have recently rejoined the company after John Lasseter became chief creative officer following the Pixar acquisition. Lasseter himself is reported to have given his approval for the project to be made in 2-D, saying he would like to see Disney use 2-D visuals for the right projects.

UPDATE 05/12/2007: Movie title changed from "The Frog Princess" to "The Princess and the Frog.
