India.Arie's "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Friendship" opens at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart.

AceShowbiz - Grammy-winning songstress India.Arie has her third album, "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship", tops the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 selling 161,000 copies on the week ended Sunday July 2nd, such amount that brings the singer to beat another new release on the chart, Dashboard Confessional's "Dusk and Summer" who is on the runner-up position with 134,000 in sales.

"Life & Relationship" is Arie's third album subsequent to her 2001's "Acoustic Soul" and 2002's "Voyage to India". It moreover also marks her first ever chart-topper, that's for you to note. Back then to the chart, there's last week's champ Nelly Furtado's "Loose" at No. 3 with 99,000 units sold, followed by the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" at #4 with more than 78,000 scans.

Rihanna's "A Girl Like Me", sold another 62,000 copies, brings the singer to sit at the 5th spot on the chart, just one place ahead of Gnarls Barkley's "St. Elsewhere" which rises two to No. 6 with sales more than 60,000. In the meantime, Rascal Flatts' "Me and My Gang" secures the 7th spot with 59,000 copies, while Busta Rhymes' "The Big Bang" slips three to #8 with 58,000 copies sold.

Next on the chart is the soundtrack to the Disney Channel original movie "High School Musical" which secures the 9th spot with nearly 58,000 sales, and rounds out the top tier at No. 10 is the soundtrack to the animated feature "Cars," which sold over 50,000 copies its fourth week in stores.
