"Rails and Ties", a new film project from Warner Independent Pictures, will be directed by first-time director Alison Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood.

AceShowbiz - Another new project from Warner Independent Pictures, "Rails and Ties" is now set to work its way to production as the company has appointed Alison Eastwood to bring it up to cinemas. Making her directorial debut, Eastwood has been known for her acting works in a number of films like those in "Tightrope" (1984), "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997), and "Poolhall Junkies" (2002).

In the meantime, Eastwood's father, lauded actor/director Clint Eastwood, will produce the feature through his production company, Malpaso Prods., which has been based on the Warners for over 30 years.

Seemingly intended to be a touching drama, "Rails and Ties" is based on an original screenplay written by Micky Levy and tells about the physical, emotional and psychological collision of two families. The story itself, according to the Hollywood Reporter, takes its beginning rather shockingly as it presents a woman and her 9-year-old son seating in a car parking on a railroad crossing, waiting for the arrival of a speeding train.
