Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder and B.B. King are joining a handful of artists whose masterworks will be preserved in perpetuity by the Library of Congres

AceShowbiz - 50 recordings by veteran artists, like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder and B.B. King, are being added to the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. Why those masterworks and not the others? It is all because the recordings are considered to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

As of Wonder, he makes the list with his 1976 double album, "Songs in the Key of Life", while Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?", which was hailed as one of the "most groundbreaking guitar albums of the rock era, leads the newcomers. Music legend B.B. King is recognized for his legendary 1965 live concert album, "Live at the Regal".

Meanwhile, there are also some other recordings included in the list. They among others are Fats Domino's laid-back 1956 cover of Glenn Miller's 1940 hit "Blueberry Hill", Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention's 1968 masterpiece, "We're Only in It for the Money", Sonic Youth's "Daydream Nation" and many more.
