George Michael was arrested on Sunday Feb 26th, 2006 on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was found slumped in a car in central London

AceShowbiz - George Michael stumbles upon a new problem after another. The singer was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning Feb 26th on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was discovered slumped at the wheel of his car in central London.

"We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car on the street close to Hyde Park Corner," a Metropolitan Police spokesman said. While wasn't suffering from any injuries, police then attended and spoke to Michael.

A further search found two packets containing cannabis in his car. And thus "He was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances," the same source explained. A police doctor later determined Michael was de-arrested for the driving offence.

Though, "he has been released on bail to return to a central London police station on a date in late March pending analysis of the substances recovered." Meanwhile, Michael's manager and publicist could not be reached for comment.
