AceShowbiz - Oscar-nominated cinematographer John Schwartzman is about to make his directorial debut in the forthcoming drama flick "Carlisle School." In hand producing is Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray along with John Fusco and Jim Crabbe.
As of the story, "Carlisle School" tells the true story of a ragtag team of American Indian football players, led by future sports legend and Olympic gold medallist Jim Thorpe. The men attended the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, a boarding school in Pennsylvania that from 1879-1918 housed American Indians from childhood through college. The men overcame long odds in the early part of the 20th century to defeat some of the best college football teams in the nation.
