50 Cent stole the opening line for his 2003 hit, "In Da Club," from a song by former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell, an attorney claims in a law

AceShowbiz - 50 Cent is sued by Luther Campbell, the ex-frontman of rap group 2 Live Crew, who claimed the rapper has stolen a line from a song he formerly wrote for his 2003 hit single "In Da Club." Filed a claim at Miami Federal Court last week, Campbell's lawyer accused Fiddy of using the opening line of Campbell's song "It's Your Birthday," changing just one word.

Campbell's lawyer said 50 Cent only changed one word from the opening line of his client's song from "It's Your Birthday" after repeating the word "go" several times, "Sheila" becomes "shorty" in the line, "Go shorty, it's your birthday." Being asked about the copyright violation, 50 Cent's publicist, Dennis Dennehy, said he had no comment on the lawsuit while the rapper himself was unavailable for comment.
