AceShowbiz - Russell Crowe. The actor has been pleaded guilty to third-degree assault Friday, stemming from the throwing telephone incident happened June this year. At that time, Crowe was charged with second-degree assault after throwing a telephone at Nestor Estrada, an employee at Manhattan's Mercer Hotel, when he failed to get a phone connection to wife Danielle Spencer in Australia.
And so, attending the 20 minute hearing, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Kathryn Freed sentenced Crowe to a conditional discharge, in which he must behave himself for a year--or at least avoid arrest--or else face jail time. The movie star reportedly has to pay $160 fine and a six-figure sum to the hotel worker he threw a telephone at in order to escape jail.
